PEOPLE’S PUPPET CO-OPCINEMATOGRAPHER

After Shane pitched the concept of seeking out this puppet making co-op, I was so excited for the prospect of shooting these puppets and these interesting people. Getting acclimated with the ARRI was surprsingly easy. The intuitive design, weight, viewfinder, everything about the camera felt right. Paired with the rather unique subject matter, the shoot was an amazing learning experience. Learning to manually measure lighting for exposure, manually pulling focus on old ass lenses and loading and unloading film was such an exhilirating experience.
In order to set our work apart from the other projects, we wanted to get a little creative with part of the shoot. After letting us totally invade and film their workspace, the puppeteers let us take out puppets and run around filming them in the Cambridge Botanical Garden.
